Specialized Area of Certification

We understand that many clinicians aspire to achieve certification in a specialized area. To support this, we offer a clearly defined path toward Specialization.

Requirements for Specialization Certification:

1. Proof of licensure and/or relevant professional certification

2. Two professional letters of reference

3. One personal letter of reference

4. A total of 10 hours of continuing education (CE) annually, with coursework spanning three different focus areas

5. At least 10 CE hours must be directly related to your chosen area of specialization

Example: Submitting the general requirements and CE hours alone does not qualify you for a Specialization Certificate. For instance, if you submit 10 CE hours in Autism, 3 hours in Swallowing, and 3 hours in Ethics, you will be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Excellence with a specialization in Autism.

Please Note: Specialization certification is awarded in addition to the annual Certificate of Clinical Excellence requirements and must be renewed every three years.

All continuing education will be accepted by the CCE Board with valid proof of completion, such as test results or certificates of completion.
